Beer of the month

The endless beer drinking quest continues. This month's six pack (not sure if it'll last the month) is Red Stripe. It's from Jamaica. One of the reasons I bought it was for the saying on the back "For over 75 years Red Stripe has embodied the spirit, rythm and pulse of Jamaica and its people". That's a pretty big claim. It tastes pretty good...a bit like VB but a bit more refined.

Let's go White Sox, let's go!

The baseball World* series is upon us**. This is big. Especially this year coz the Chicago White Sox are in the world series. Chicago White Sox vs Houston Astros. Right now it's bottom of the 5th with the Sox up 4vs3. Its been a pretty entertaining game so far. Of course I'm rooting for my adopted home team - the Sox.

It's getting interesting....bottom of the 5th, bases loaded, 1 out, Evervitt up to bat...ball one...Everitt's been all over the place today....ball two...fouled into upper deck for stike one.......edge of the seat stuff...sliced for a foul...stike two...hit to first base...throws to second...back to first for the double play...astros manage to get out of that one....whew..time for another beer....

* This is another example of America thinking its the only country on the planet.

** I don't really follow baseball. I don't watch it on tv but I do enjoy going to the games - but more for the beer and peanuts.

Yahoo Fantasy Football book pls

Why do I always have a slow start to the season? Every year Baldy (alias used to conceal true identity) setups the Marlboro league in Yahoo fantasy football. Right now I'm an embarrasing 11/24. I'd like to blame it on the shite redesign of soccernet.com which is my main source of information. I'd also like to attribute some of my poor form to a lack of watching and playing the world game (thanks Johnny Warren). However no matter how many excuses that I come up with, it doesn't hide from the fact that I'm 11/24. Last year I finished either 5th or 6th - an impressive effort for someone such as myself.

Warren Buffett, Peter Lynch, Paul Clitheroe - can you please write a book on how to pick a winner on Yahoo fantasy football so that I can earn bragging rights? To put a monetory figure on such a right would be insulting.
