Weekend Snaps

I never was a big fan of camera phones. The quality is utter crap.
However it sure is convinient for those quick snaps. Here are some
more snaps from my RAZR from the weekend.

I haven't posted any pics of home cooking for a while. SY's been doing most of it - and a great job too! Here's one of her creations:

Japanese Rice w/ Bonito flakes & rice seasoning and Pepper chicken udon noodles

Busy busy...but wouldn't have it any other way

Using crutches is one major hassle. You can't get a morning coffee coz you can't carry it back to your desk. Enuff whinging. This weekend we watched a community college football game, celebrated Pau Din's birthday and went to Flavour fest. Later this week we're driving to Niagara falls & then Toronto for friend's wedding. Then PK is flying up from Florida to stay for the weekend. Great stuff. Oh yeah, gotta a fair bit to do at work as well. That sux. Everything else rocks. Busy busy ... but I wouldn't have it any other way. Bring it!

The highs and lows of basketball

Basketball is a great game and much like life has highs & lows. Let me start with the highs. In our lunch time pick up games we won 5 games in a row. My team was playing some great triangle offense and we were all over the boards. As for myself it was probably my best game ever. Over half a dozen steals, 5 from 6 from the 3pt and generally taking my direct opponent to school. The only thing I couldn't keep up with was the trash talk we gave the other team after they lost 5 straight. That was a great high.

Now for the lows. 2 of them. Both resulting in trips to the hospital. The first incident was really stupid. I was shooting some hoops with my mgr and caught a rebound. No one around me. Just as I catch the ball I feel something drop into my eye. I spent the next 4hrs trying to wash the bastard out of my eye. To cut a long story short I went to the hospital and was diagnosed with a (minor) scratched cornea.

The second incident was the worst. I was shooting a 3ptr (jump shot) and landed on the defenders foot. I heard my ankle go pop. Then pain. Again to cut a long story short I end up in hospital getting x-rays. No bone damage - just a severly sprained ankle with possible ligament damage. I think I must just old (and heavier). In my more yourful days I used roll my ankle all the time and bounce right back.

So shouts to Pete & Fenwick for taking it in turns to take me to the hospital. Now I'm waiting on the bills...

He came, he saw, he conquered

It's all a little bit too easy to forget something that you've started. But I've got some reasons for not updating this blog over the last few weeks.

I had a friend from Australia come and stay for 9days. Jono came and conquered Chicago. Sox game, lake cruise, commedy club, blues bar, batting cage, deep dish and Jet Vodka were all checked off the list. But the biggest impact was White Castle. Twice. 9 slyders on day 1. After a lot of talk of 15, on day 8 Jono put down all 15. Respect.
